Gold worth Rs 38 lakh was brought hidden in a private part at Varanasi Airport, investigation revealed, Customs department caught it.

On Sunday, Customs Department officials caught a passenger with gold worth Rs 38 lakh at Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport. The gold recovered is about 633 grams. The passenger from whom the gold was seized had brought it to Varanasi from Sharjah (UAE) by hiding it in a private part. It was made into a paste in 3 capsules and placed in the rectum. When the customs officials became suspicious of the passenger at the airport, they investigated him thoroughly in which gold was found. The doctors gave the passenger an enema and took out the capsules. The accused youth Sandeep is a resident of Varanasi. He gave a statement to the customs officials that he had gone to Sharjah for a job, but due to the fraud of the agent, he got trapped in the clutches of smugglers.

Actually, Air India flight IX-184 from Sharjah landed at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport on Sunday evening. During the investigation, the customs officials became suspicious of the passenger who repeatedly stood back. He was examined thoroughly. Red light lit up in the scanner during the search. When looked in the scanner, plastic capsules were seen from his rectum. After this, he was taken to a separate room and started interrogating him. He was identified as Sandeep Kumar, resident of Barthara Kala, Chaubepur, Varanasi. Sandeep first tried to mislead during interrogation regarding gold. But later he admitted to taking the gold. After this the doctors gave him medicines. Then the enema was injected. Later all three capsules were taken out. The weight of this gold is 633.02 grams. The price of gold is estimated to be more than Rs 38 lakh.

The passenger was trapped in the trap of the agent

Sandeep Kumar had gone to the Gulf country on July 22 to work on a tourist visa. The agent with whose help Sandeep had gone there. After a few days he left us. Due to his visa having expired due to not getting a job, the traveler got a notice to return to India. He had to return by 25 September. For which help was sought at many places. During this time, he came in contact with gold smugglers and was given a ticket to bring the gold. Customs officials said that as per the rules, if gold worth less than Rs 50 lakh was recovered, the passenger was confiscated and released.

Gold was caught earlier also

Let us tell you that on September 27, at the airport, Kanhaiya Kumar Singh, a resident of Vishunpura in Siwan district of Bihar state, a passenger who had come from Sharjah by Air India Express flight, was also brought with three capsules of gold hidden in the large intestine through the rectum. The weight of the recovered gold was estimated at 840 and the value was estimated at Rs 49 lakh. He was also released after completing the paperwork.
