Go First pleads before NCLT, order on insolvency resolution petition soon

Go First at NCLT: Troubled airline Go First on Monday requested the NCLT to take an early decision on its voluntary insolvency resolution petition. Meanwhile, lessors have started de-registering the airline’s aircraft.

The bench said to consider the request of Go First

Earlier, the tribunal had reserved its verdict on May 4 after hearing GoFirst’s plea. Senior advocate P Nagesh along with Pranjal Kishore mentioned the matter before the principal bench headed by Ramalingam Sudhakar in the morning. He urged the tribunal to decide his plea soon as the lessors have started de-registration of the airline’s aircraft. The bench said to consider the request of Go First.

Demand for cancellation of registration of more than 20 aircraft

The lessors have demanded cancellation of registration of more than 20 aircraft. The Wadia Group firm has approached the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) after filing a voluntary insolvency resolution petition. GoFirst has been flying for the last 17 years and has suspended ticket sales till May 15.
