GM angry after seeing poor food and high prices at Bettiah station, reprimanded DCI, directed to take action against the contractor

General Manager of East Central Railway, Anil Kumar Khandelwal inspected Bettiah Railway Station on Monday. During this, he took stock of the facilities and cleanliness of the passengers. He seemed quite satisfied with the arrangements made for the passengers at the station but expressed his displeasure over the poor food and high prices and reprimanded the DCI. He told that the system here is fine and there is a need to improve it further. While alighting at Bettiah railway station, Station Superintendent Lalbabu Rawat welcomed the GM. After this, the Railway General Manager inspected the railway works being done for the convenience of the passengers one by one.

During this, Khandelwal inspected the toilets of the railway canteen and the control room of the trains. In this sequence, Maa Bhavani Food was providing poor quality food to the passengers in the name of providing cheap food. Seeing this, Railway General Manager Anil Kumar Khandelwal interrogated Manager Aniket Kumar Soni. Which revealed that food was being provided to the passengers here at a rate higher than the prescribed rate. Despite charging higher prices, food was not being given to the passengers as per the railway standards. Angered by this, he reprimanded the DCI present at the spot.

Instructions to inspect every month

The General Manager asked the DCI on this, do you not inspect? So they told that the inspection was done two months ago. On this he said that you have to inspect every month. The same mother directed to take action against the contactor of Bhavani Food. This has increased the hope of the passengers present that some action will definitely be taken by DCI.

Local citizens submitted memorandum to the Railway General Manager

Members of Sant Kabir Road Development Association met the Railway General Manager and submitted a memorandum. Union members Haresh Kumar Singh, Arvind Kumar Mishra, Dharmendra Kumar Yadav, Manoj Rai said that the condition of the road in the railway area from Banuchhapar Puja Mandap to Staff Hotel is very bad. Passengers coming here have to face problems. The incomplete road has been constructed by the Railway Department. Accidents keep happening every day. At a distance of 300 meters from the new Gumti of the railway, a service road should be connected to Brahma Sthan road. Taking this seriously, the General Manager assured to complete the road construction work. He said that this work will be completed soon. After this assurance of the General Manager, there is happiness among the members of Sant Kabir Road Vikas Manch.

Also inspected Valmikinagar Road Railway Station

After this he reached Valmikinagar Road Railway Station and inspected. During this, the GM gave necessary directions to the officials. Let us inform that after reaching Valmikinagar Road Railway Station, the GM along with the officials conducted a thorough inspection of the railway station and the adjacent area. In this sequence, he kept giving necessary directions to the concerned officials. The local officials agreed to work as per his guidelines. Also reviewed the Bagaha-Valmikinagar doubling railway track. After a thorough investigation, he directed the concerned officers to complete the remaining work soon. All local officials will be present during his inspection.

GM reached Valmikinagar station from special salon

As per his pre-determined schedule, at around 3:10 am on Monday morning, the General Manager of East Central Railway along with his associate officers reached Valmikinagar Road Railway Station from the special salon. On his arrival, Station Superintendent PN Pandey welcomed him warmly. Then at around four o’clock left for Narkatiaganj from Valmikinagar Road Railway Station.

Tight security arrangements were made

In view of the arrival of the GM, strict security arrangements were made at the railway station. Narkatiaganj RPF Inspector Chandan Kumar was seen ready with the RPF soldiers. On the occasion of GM’s inspection, Samastipur DRM, ADEN, SDGM, Chief Employee Welfare Inspector, Senior Section Engineer, Senior Section Engineer etc. were present.
