Global launch of TVS X performance electric scooter, booking will start from late night of Thursday

New Delhi : TVS Motor Company has unveiled the much-awaited X Performance electric scooter. The TVS is priced at Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and the first variant package will be available for an additional Rs 18,000 for the first 2,000 customers. This is the second electric offering from the company after the iQube and has emerged as a more premium model in terms of power and technology.

Design

The new TVS X e-scooter has been designed on the Xleton platform. This model comes with wide split seats for the rider and pillion, which have been designed for maximum comfort. The e-scooter will come with three riding modes Xtealth, Xtride and Xonic. This model will come with selectable regenerative braking.

TVS X Electric Scooter: Battery, Range and Features

The TVS X will get a 4.44 kWh battery pack that will give a range of 140 km (claimed) on a single charge. The performance electric scooter gets an 11 kW (14.7 bhp) motor along with a mid-drive motor with a nominal output of 7 kW (9.3 bhp). The model will be able to accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 2.6 seconds, while 0-60 kmph will come in 4.5 seconds. The maximum speed is rated at 105 kmph. TVS boasts of advanced thermal management with the RAM intake air-cooled motor. The company claims that it takes 3 hours 40 minutes to charge 0-80 percent.

TVS X Electric Scooter: Safety Features

The TVS model will come with a 10.25-inch HD tilt screen setup, which will enable all the features of the electric scooter. The infotainment system will be able to operate multiple apps including navigation, games, music and more. The under seat storage is of 19 litres. The electric scooter will come equipped with TVS Smart Xshield, which will offer a host of safety features including crash detection, speed limit, overspeeding alert, towing alert, geofencing, auto-locking and more. TVS X will come with live location-sharing feature to keep the rider’s loved ones updated in real time. The infotainment system will also be customisable. TVS braking performance will come from the 220 mm single front disc and 195 mm rear disc set-up with single-channel ABS. The e-scooter gets 12-inch alloy wheels with 100/80 section front tire and 110/80 section rear tyre. The ground clearance is 175 mm while the seat height is 770 mm.

TVS iQube Electric Scooter

TVS iQube electric scooter was launched during 2020 in India. The iQube gets a 4.4-KW electric hub motor, which delivers 140Nm of peak torque to the wheels. This motor is mated to a 2.25 kWh lithium-ion battery. TVS has positioned the battery under the floorboard of the scooter.

TVS iQube Range, Mileage and Charging System

This TVS electric scooter is capable of giving a range of about 75 km. TVS also provides a portable charger with it that supports 5 ampere charging socket, with the help of which it can be charged anywhere. It takes about 5 hours to get fully charged. Along with this, the company also provides a charging station, which is installed by the company at your place. TVS says that it will soon be equipped with fast charging capabilities. The company has also installed several charging stations in Bengaluru.

According to TVS, its top speed is 78 km/h. It can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. It gets two riding modes Eco and Sport. For better drive range (mileage), its top speed has been limited to 40 km/h in Eco mode.

TVS iQube Features

LED units have been used in all the lighting systems in the TVS iQube. A TFT display is available in its instrument cluster, which supports smartphone connectivity. Using this, you can take advantage of features like navigation assist, geo-fencing, range indication, charge status, ride statistics, incoming call alert and over speed alert. Apart from this, practical features like USB charging port and boot light are also standard in it.

TVS iQube Suspension & Braking System

The TVS iQube suspension gets telescopic forks at the front and shock absorbers at the rear. At the same time, for braking, its 12-inch wheels get disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear. The curb weight of this scooter is 118 kg.

In the Indian market, this TVS electric scooter competes with the premium variants of Ather 450 and Bajaj Chetak, which cost Rs 1.13 lakh (on road Bangalore) and Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom Bangalore) respectively.
