In these four months, the police has made every possible effort to crack down on the criminals by conducting intensive raids. The situation has become such that either many criminals have fled the area or many have stopped committing crimes. The police campaign has most affected coal and cattle smugglers as well as cyber criminals. There is panic in this gang. Police has succeeded in arresting more than 326 criminals in the last four months in the district. Whereas, 285 mobile phones and more than 150 four wheelers have been recovered. After Deepak Kumar Sharma took charge as SP in Giridih, the police has made major changes in its working style. While on one hand efforts are being made to crack down on criminals, on the other hand efforts are also being made to establish better relations with the general public. Due to the change in work culture, the credibility of the police among the people has also increased significantly in recent times.
Cyber criminals took refuge in other states
The police campaign against cyber criminals in Giridih district has become famous not only in the district but throughout the country. In the last four months, a total of 148 cyber criminals have been caught in the district. If we look at the reflection portal, the police has succeeded in arresting 107 criminals in one and a half months. According to the data of Prakharna portal, Giridih district is second in the state in terms of arrests. However, in Deoghar district, 200 criminals were arrested against 32 FIRs till December 31, 2023. Whereas, in Giridih, 107 arrests have been made against 16 FIRs. Giridih Police has succeeded in recovering 330 SIM cards, 254 mobiles, three cars and many bikes. This campaign of the police has created a stir among cyber criminals. He has been forced to leave Giridih district. Many criminals have taken shelter in big hotels in West Bengal, Maharashtra and Punjab, from where they are still committing cyber crimes. At the same time, many criminals cheat people outside the district online during the day and then take shelter in their homes at night. Many criminals, after committing fraud, leave their mobile phones along with the SIM outside the district and return.
44 trucks including 1587 tonnes of illegal coal recovered
Due to the strictness of Giridih police, the restlessness of coal smugglers has increased. There is panic among the smugglers who load coal from Dhanbad district and take it to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Giridih Police has so far seized 1587 tonnes of illegal coal in four months. During this period 44 trucks have been seized. In these four months, the police have registered 44 cases related to coal smuggling. 54 people have been arrested there. During this period, the police have recovered three pickup vans and more than 65 motorcycles. It is being told that coal smugglers have planned to divert the route and consume illegal coal in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. It should be noted that a large quantity of illegal coal has been being transported using GT Road in Giridih district.
41 trucks carrying 793 cattle seized, 86 smugglers arrested
Due to its proximity to the Bangladesh border, a large number of cattle are being transported through Giridih. But, in the last four months, the police has taken several actions against cattle smuggling. On the instructions of SP, vigilance is being maintained in all the police stations. In four months, the police recovered a total of 793 cattle. 86 cattle smugglers were arrested in four months. At the same time, the police was successful in seizing 41 trucks. Maximum 176 cattle have been recovered in Sariya police station area. At the same time, 152 from Ahilyapur police station area, 119 from Nemiaghat police station area, 103 from Deori, 73 from Bagodar, 70 from Birni, 38 from Bengabad, 26 from Tisri, 19 from Gavan, eight from Dumri, six from Jamua, two more from Ghodthambha. A cattle has been recovered from Pachamba police station area. Let it be known that after the arrest of cattle, common people have also started providing information related to cattle smuggling to the police. Some people have also sent a video of the night to Giridih SP, in which cattle smuggling is shown. In such a situation, the police is also getting help in running the campaign against smugglers.
Campaign against illegal activities also started, six factories demolished
Giridih police has also taken action against illegal liquor. Police demolished a total of six illegal liquor factories. At the same time, 11 people were arrested. During this period, the police was successful in seizing a large quantity of English and country liquor and spirits. Police have registered 17 incidents in four months. Similarly, while taking action against narcotics, the police succeeded in recovering about 55 kg of ganja and seized about 1042 pieces of narcotic capsules. In this action, the police succeeded in arresting five criminals.

The criminals have lost their courage due to the police crackdown in cases of organized economic crime including murder, robbery etc. After the kidnapping incident, the kidnapped youth was freed due to police raids. At the same time, the kidnapper had to surrender. Let us tell you that Mithilesh Mandal of Ahilyapur police station was kidnapped by kidnappers from Dumri for a ransom of Rs 10 lakh. But, he was freed within 24 hours. At the same time, the police has also done remarkable work in the robbery of Rs 5 crore. The police was successful in recovering Rs 4 crore 1 lakh 15 thousand five hundred out of Rs 5 crore. A total of eight criminals were arrested in this case. Police also arrested three criminals in the bike theft case. Whereas, six bikes were recovered. The police also arrested a person in the Taratand robbery case. The police was successful in recovering the looted items. Police also arrested two people in the case of kidnapping for ransom from Bagodar police station area, while due to police raid, the kidnapped person was freed within twelve hours. Apart from this, the police also succeeded in arresting many people with pistols and other items in cases of murder, firing in land dispute etc.
