Holi festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the city on Tuesday. People forgot their mutual differences and hugged each other and got immersed in the colors of Holi. This time people showed more enthusiasm in Holi. People had started preparations for Holi a week in advance.
After Holika Dahan on Sunday night, some people celebrated Holi on Monday also. But, most of the people celebrated Holi on Tuesday only. There was a phase of colors throughout the day on Tuesday. Since morning, people reached the places of friends and relatives and celebrated Holi. Took blessings of elders by applying gulal to them.
There was a lot of enthusiasm among the children also. Whoever came out of the deserted streets of the city appeared colorful. The process of playing Holi continued till evening. The youth enjoyed the festival in different ways with their friends.
On the occasion of Holi, Mahavir Seva Samiti organized a pot breaking competition at Bakshidih Mod on Tuesday evening. Many people participated in this competition. Binod Sharma became the winner by breaking the pot. Organizer Hablu Gupta honored the winner with a cash prize.
Bablu Vishwakarma, Mukesh Aggarwal, Dinesh Aggarwal, Sanjay Gupta, Naveen Kumar Chhotu, Kishore Rai, Rajan Sinha, Pintu Kumar, Amit Tarve etc. were present on the occasion.
Holi Milan ceremony was organized at the residence of SP Deepak Kumar Sharma on Monday evening. Apart from SP, DSP Kaushar Ali, SDPO Binod Ravani, many police officers and soldiers participated in it.
The soldiers applied gulal to each other and congratulated each other on Holi and had a lot of fun. The SP was seen dancing with the soldiers by playing drums and jhal.
