Giridih: District Science Center will be renovated with 58.88 lakhs, approval received

Pradeep Kumar, Giridih: The science center operated in the memory of scientist Sir JC Bose in Barganda in the urban area will soon be renovated. The state government has given administrative approval of Rs 58.88 lakh for this work. In this regard, Government Secretary Rahul Kumar Purwar has also sent a letter to the Accountant General of Jharkhand. It was said through the letter that to promote science in Jharkhand, the District Science Centers operating in nine districts of the state including Giridih have to be strengthened and made functional soon and opened to the general public.

In this regard, Giridih Deputy Commissioner has been requested to provide the estimate for the renovation related to civil work of the building of District Science Centre. Whereas the work related to the exhibition will be done by NCSM Kolkata. A technically approved estimate of Rs 58 lakh 88 thousand five hundred has been provided by DC for Giridih Science Centre. The responsibility of implementation of the said work will be of Giridih Deputy Commissioner in the light of PWD Code and other relevant rules. The construction work period of the approved scheme will be six months from the date of issue of work permit.

Scientist Jesse Bose used to do research here

Scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose used to come to Giridih from Kolkata. Late in the same building which has today been converted into a science center in the memory of J.C. Bose. Bose used to do many types of scientific research. Also, he breathed his last in this building. JC Bose was born on 30 November 1858 in Mymensingh, Faridapur in Dhaka district of Bengal, while scientist JC Bose breathed his last on 23 November 1937 in Giridih. Let us tell you that for the last several days, there was a demand for the renovation of Vigyan Bhawan by the enlightened people. For this, a memorandum was also submitted to Giridih MLA Sudivya Kumar Sonu. After this, MLA Shri Sonu took this initiative before the state government. Therefore, today the path has been paved for the renovation of the District Science Centre.

Jesse Bose’s safe remains mysterious

Science Center Till date, no one has tried to open the safe of scientist J.C. Bose kept in . Last few years ago, the then President of India, Dr., tried to open the safe of JC Bose. A program was made for APJ Abdul Kalam Azad to come to Giridih, but due to some reasons he could not reach here and suddenly he died on 27 July 2015. After his death, the mystery of JC Bose’s safe has now remained just a mystery. The then DC of Giridih, KK Pathak had tried to get the Bihar government to open the safe of JC Bose, but the Bihar government also did not show seriousness in this regard. Due to which even today his safe remains a mystery. Many organizations have worked several times to draw the attention of the administration towards opening the safe of JC Bose.
