Ghazipur: Police had an encounter with a criminal carrying a reward of Rs 25,000, who along with his girlfriend had murdered her husband.

Veeru Yadav, the main accused in the murder case of shopkeeper Swatantra Bharti in Ghazipur, UP, was arrested by the police after an encounter late on Saturday night, a reward of Rs 25 thousand was declared on him. The police team of Khanpur police station was checking suspicious persons and criminals near Bihariganj crossing at night. Meanwhile, a suspicious bike rider broke the barricading and started running away through Uchauri. The police chased him. But the miscreant saw himself surrounded on both sides by the police team near Chirauna Kala village and opened fire. The police also retaliated. During the encounter he was shot in the leg, due to which he got injured. During interrogation by the police, he revealed his name as Veeru Yadav, resident of village Khutwa, police station Shadiabad. He was sent to the district hospital for treatment. SP City Gyanendra also reached the spot and took information about the incident. He said that a pistol, 3 spent cartridges, one live cartridge and a bike without number plate were recovered from him.

It is noteworthy that on the evening of 29th September, Sidhauna Niwas mobile shopkeeper Swatantra Bharti was shot dead by Veeru along with his two friends Govind Yadav, resident of Dihiya village of Nandganj police station and Gama Bind, resident of Hakimpur Sonthi, in broad daylight. When the police started linking the murder case, they got information about the involvement of the deceased’s wife Kanchan in the murder case.

After this the police arrested Kanchan, Govind and Gama. During interrogation it was revealed that Veeru was having an affair with Kanchan. Due to her belonging to another caste, the family members had married Kanchan to Swatantra in March this year. After this, Veeru made a plan with Kanchan and killed her husband. Since then Veeru was absconding.

Killer of mother and four innocent children in Mumbai arrested in Varanasi

On Saturday, a joint team of STF and Maharashtra Police arrested two real brothers near Sarangnath Mahadev Temple located in Sarnath area of ​​Varanasi. These two brothers were absconding after killing their mother and four innocent children when three thousand rupees went missing in Mumbai 29 years ago. The accused have been identified as Anil Saroj alias Vijay and Sunil Saroj alias Sanjay, residents of Nishan village of Gaura Badshahpur police station in Jaunpur district. After presenting both of them in the court, the Mumbai Police took them on transit remand.

Murder was done for three thousand rupees

Actually, Anil Saroj used to work as a laborer while living with his brother Sunil in Bhadwal Chawl, Penkarmala Mira Road, Bhayandar, Mumbai. Raj Narayan Prajapati of Prayagraj lived with his wife Jagrani, three innocent sons and a daughter in the neighborhood of both the brothers. One day three thousand rupees went missing from Anil Saroj’s suitcase. Anil suspected that his money had been made missing by the children of Raj Narayan Prajapati.

There were frequent arguments between the two families regarding this matter. Raj Narayan went to his work on 16 November 1994. After this, in a planned manner, Anil and Sunil along with their partner Kalia Chauhan alias Amarnath, resident of Nonavati Beerapatti of Baragaon police station, attacked and killed Raj Narayan’s wife and four children with knives and choppers. In this regard, a case of murder was registered against unknown in Kashimira police station.

Maharashtra Police sought help from Varanasi unit

During the police investigation, the names of Anil, Sunil and Amarnath came up. Amarnath was arrested by the police, but Anil and Sunil were not found. The Crime Branch Unit of Meera Bhayandar Vasai found out about both the brothers that they are in Jaunpur and they keep visiting Banaras. Based on this, Maharashtra Police sought help from the Varanasi unit of STF to arrest both the brothers.

Worked as a laborer in Delhi, then became a technician

Additional SP Vinod Kumar Singh of STF’s Varanasi unit said that on the request of Maharashtra Police, a team of SI Angad Yadav, Gyanendra Singh and Shehzada Khan was formed under the leadership of Inspector Amit Srivastava. With the help of surveillance and informers, it was found that Anil and Sunil were going to come to Sarangnath Mahadev Temple located in Sarnath area. Based on this information, both of them were arrested near Sarangnath Mahadev Temple.

Used to meet family at relatives’ place

Aadhar card and one thousand rupees were recovered from both of them. During STF interrogation, both the brothers told that they had fled from Mumbai after killing their mother and four sons. Both of them came to Delhi from Mumbai and started living as laborers. Both of them never went to their home. They used to go to a relative’s house surreptitiously and meet their family members. This sequence continued for about 15 years.

Both the accused were going to the temple to worship

When both of them were convinced that they would not be caught now, in the year 2009, they started living in their maternal home in Sohni village of Kerakat police station in Jaunpur district, changing their names and attire. With this, Anil started the work of Tantric worship and Sunil became his associate. After this both of them started moving here and there without any fear. In the same sequence, both the brothers often used to come to Sarangnath Mahadev temple located in Sarnath area for worship. Both the brothers were going to Sarangnath Mahadev temple for worship, but were arrested before that.
