Ghaziabad : A case of trying to convert has come to light in UP’s Ghaziabad, where the game of conversion was being played under the guise of a beauty parlour. In Madhu Vihar Colony of Khoda area of Ghaziabad, an attempt was made to motivate a woman who came to a beauty parlor to convert to Christianity, the police arrested three people including a priest and his wife in this case.
Giving information about this, the police said that on Sunday, three people, including a priest and his wife, were arrested in Khoda area of Ghaziabad district for motivating a woman to convert to Christianity. Police sources said that on Saturday, on the complaint of BJP worker Sunita Arora, who lives in Madhu Vihar Colony, the police arrested Pastor Ibrahim Thomas, his wife Riva and beauty parlor operator Babita.

In fact, BJP leader Sunita Arora lodged a complaint at the Khoda police station on Friday night, in which she alleged that her neighbor Babita had introduced her to Ibrahim Thomas, a native of Kerala, who is currently a pastor at the Kalvari Church. The complaint also alleged that Thomas, with the help of his wife Reeva, organizes religious sessions for Hindus and people of other faiths for conversion.
Conversion in the guise of beauty parlor
According to media reports, it was also said in the complaint that Thomas, with the help of Babita, called Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker Sunita Arora to the parlor and tried to convert her. Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Chandra Yadav said that Thomas, Rewa and Babita have been arrested under the Uttar Pradesh Religion Change Prohibition Act 2021. At the same time, the investigating agencies have also become alert. Sources say that the officials of the investigating agencies are keeping an eye on every angle and aspect of the case.
