A blood-soaked body of a girl was found lying in a fountain at around 8.30 am on Saturday morning in ATS Society located in Neeti Khand of Indirapuram police station area in Ghaziabad. There was a sensation when the dead body was found in the society. The student’s body could be identified in about six hours. According to the police, the girl has been identified as Delhi resident Aastha Sharma (30), she was a BDS student at Santosh Medical College, Ghaziabad. The name of the deceased’s father is Ajay Sharma. The medical student was living in her friend’s ATS Society flat for the last one year. According to the people living in the society, the matter seems to be related to suicide. Police quoted family members as saying that the girl was a victim of depression. Ghaziabad Police has checked about 70 to 75 CCTV cameras. In the CCTV footage, the girl is seen falling from the 23rd floor of tower number-22. Based on this, the police is calling the case a suicide.
Police say that she had come on Friday to meet her friend Rohit Khanna, who lives in tower number six. After the meeting at six in the evening, she left the society but came back after three minutes. This time she reached tower number 11 and then committed suicide by jumping. His slippers were also found on the balcony. Police said that Aastha, daughter of car showroom owner Ajay Sharma, resident of Vikaspuri Mandi, Delhi, and Rohit Khanna, who is doing a film acting course in Mumbai, were friends for a year. For the past several months, Aastha often came to meet Rohit. But, their friendship broke two months ago. Even after this, Aastha continued to come to meet occasionally. She was in depression. He was also undergoing treatment. On Friday she came early at nine in the morning and stayed with Rohit till afternoon. After this she went to her flat in Shaktikhand. Came again in the evening and came back at six o’clock. As soon as she left the society, she came back again and instead of going to Rohit, she went to another tower. After this he committed suicide by jumping. At present the police is investigating the incident from all aspects.
Daughter was under stress – parents
Police spoke to Aastha’s mother on phone. He told that the daughter was under stress for a long time. He was also undergoing treatment. She was shocked by the news of her daughter’s death. After some time the family reached Indirapuram police station. Aastha’s father Ajay Sharma told the police that his daughter was smart in studies. She wanted to become a good dental doctor. Therefore, the daughter’s admission was done in the top medical college of Ghaziabad. She was under stress for the last few days. She also took medicines for stress, but she never told what this stress was about.
The secret was revealed only after seeing the camera footage
Let us tell you that it took six hours for the police to uncover the mystery of Aastha’s death. For this, footage from 75 cameras was viewed. In the footage, she was seen going to the 23rd floor in the lift. Only then did it become clear that it was a case of suicide. Earlier there was also a suspicion that he might have been murdered. Even the dead body could not be identified. On this, the picture of the dead body was shared on the WhatsApp group of RWA. Six hours later a young woman identified him. After this the police contacted his family members and then Rohit Khanna.
Questions raised on security in society
ATS is counted in the VIP society of Indirapuram, but this incident has raised many questions on the security here. Aastha had come to meet Rohit many times. When he entered from gate number five on Friday, his details were not recorded. His body remained lying from Friday evening till Saturday morning but no one saw it. The incident came to light when the gardener noticed it in the morning. Whereas RWA President Yatendra Tewatiya says that Aastha used to come to meet her friend for the last several months.
