GBU: Resident Doctors Association warns of agitation in case of students and guards clash

Noida : A scuffle broke out between security guards and MBBS students at Munshi Premchand Hostel of Gautam Budh University (GBU), Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh after a minor argument. Two of the 12 seriously injured students are admitted in the ICU. The students allege that more than 30 security guards of the university barged inside the hostel and thrashed them mercilessly. 15 students have been injured in this beating, out of which two are admitted in ICU.

During this, due to fear, many students jumped down from the balcony of the first and second floor of the hostel, due to which there was a fracture in their leg and injury to the reed bone. On the other hand, the security guards vandalized the students’ bike and the warden’s car inside the hostel. This vandalism incident has been captured in the CCTV camera. Its video is going viral on social media. Police has registered a case against 80 unknown people after detaining 33 people from both the sides.

Resident Doctors Association warns of statewide agitation

On Monday morning, the students started protesting at the gate of the State Ayurvedic Institute demanding action on the security guards of Gautam Buddha University and release of the students in police custody. Also, the students demanded to shift the hostel inside the university to the hospital campus. On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh Resident Doctors Association, taking seriously the FIR lodged against the students, has demanded strict action against the accused security guards from Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak. Also warned that if this matter is not taken into cognizance, there will be a statewide agitation.

Students thrashed security guard for opposing cigarette smoking

The security guards of GBU allege that the students started fighting late at night for roaming inside the university and protesting against smoking cigarettes. After the incident, some police officers reached the spot and pacified the matter. The same Ecotech First Station in-charge Sarita Malik told that the police had immediately reached the spot on the information of the fight. 33 people from both sides have been detained.
