Thursday was the last day of nomination for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. On Thursday, candidates of NDA and Grand Alliance also filed their nominations for Gaya parliamentary seat. Jitan Ram Manjhi from HAM Party filed his nomination for NDA, while RJD candidate Kumar Sarvjeet filed his nomination for Grand Alliance.

Also, the date for withdrawal of nominations of the candidates has been announced till April 2.

Who is Kumar Sarvjeet?

RJD has made Kumar Sarvjeet its candidate from Gaya. Kumar Sarvjeet is known for his bright and friendly nature. He has studied engineering. His father has been the MP of Gaya. After the murder of MP Rajesh Kumar, Sarvjeet entered the political arena on LJP ticket in the 2009 by-election and became the MLA of Bodh Gaya. He won the assembly elections in 2015 and 2020 and was the Minister of Tourism and Agriculture in the grand alliance government formed with JDU.
