The SSP said that the youth caught by the police station of Kotwali police station, who reached the spot, was identified as Satish Kumar, a resident of Ramdhanpur locality. The SSP told that when the criminal history of Satish and Abhishek, who were caught by the police, was investigated, the police officials came to know that both are notorious. On August 29, 2021, Omprakash Gupta, a businessman from Ramdhanpur locality, lodged an FIR against the arrested Satish Kumar at Kotwali police station.

The victim Omprakash Gupta had told in his FIR that Rs 50,000 extortion was demanded from him. On not paying extortion money, extortionists bombed his house and tried to kill his daughter and daughter-in-law present in his house. Along with this, he was also threatened to be killed by the extortionists. The SSP said that a case of murder has been registered against Abhishek Kumar, who was caught by the police. Against this, on August 6, 2021, Deepak Prasad, son of Rajendra Prasad, a resident of New Godam-Pahsi Beldari Tola in Kotwali police station, has lodged an FIR for the murder of his son Aditya Kumar.

Then the victim Deepak had told the Kotwali police station in his FIR that on August 4, 2021, his son Aditya Kumar was at home. Then at around seven in the morning Aditya Kumar called his son and took him away. After this, after killing his son, on August 4, 2021, at around 4 pm, he brought the dead body in a Toto and ran away. The SSP said that an FIR was registered against Rahul Kumar, Abhishek Kumar, Rishi Kumar, Monu and Mayank under sections 302 and 34 in Kotwali police station regarding this murder.
