web series summer

Director Tigmanshu Dhulia, who made his debut in the industry two decades ago with the film Haasil based on student politics, has come up with a web series Garmi based on student politics after two decades. Although the concept is old, but its treatment is new and the style of the characters too. Which makes this series special.

The politics of student union is the basis of the story

The basis of this story with a series of 9 episodes has been made on the fictional University Trivenipur of Uttar Pradesh. The university may be fictional, but the student politics there is inspired by real life. How does student politics influence mainstream politics? This has also been added well in the series. Apart from politics, religion, caste is also an important axis of the story. These aspects are shown in the series along with the journey of the character of Arvind Shukla (Vyom Yadav). Whose dream is to clear the civil service exam, but circumstances become such that he has to join student politics unwillingly and how he struggles with new challenges. This is the story of the first part of this series.

this is special

Talking about the concept of the series, there is no newness in it. Many films and series have been made on such concept till now, but the specialty of this series is its treatment. The way the journey of the characters is shown. that’s interesting. The entire treatment of the series is realistic. From the language to the characters and the world of the university, the conflicts, conflicts, insecurities, dreams related to them, everything is close to reality. The camerawork and editing of the series is good.

error left here

Talking about the flaws, it is worth noting that the way Arvind Shukla’s family was shown close to him in the beginning of the story. Why doesn’t he come to his hostel in Trivenipuram even once to support him. Always used to talk to each other only through video calls. Apart from this, the side of love for Arvind Shukla is also not shown in the series in the same way as the death of his girlfriend becomes his motivation in the story. That side needed to be raised a little more strongly. Apart from this, the initial episodes of the series are a bit slow.

Amazing performance by Vyom Yadav

Talking about acting, Vyom Yadav can be termed as the biggest discovery of this series. Vyom, who has been seen in small roles till now, is the face of this series. He has lived the character of Arvind Shukla very well. Displaying the character’s innocence, attitude, principles in his acting, he has left such an impression that keeps you hooked to the series. Vineet Kumar has acted effectively even once in the character of Baba Vairagi. Jatin Goswami, Puneet Singh, Anurag Thakur have also been excellent. Anushka Kaushik, Pankaj Saraswat, Disha Thakur, Mukesh Tiwari also do justice to their respective characters.

see or not see

This series has become entertaining due to superb acting, realistic treatment. Which should be seen by all.
