Gangasagar: 182 pilgrims returning from Gangasagar were rescued by the Indian Coast Guard near Kakdweep.

Kolkata, Amit Sharma: The Indian Coast Guard carried out a commendable rescue operation to save the pilgrims who had come to participate in the Ganga Sagar Fair and got stranded near Namkhana (Kakdweep). Hovercrafts were deployed from Haldia to rescue about 182 pilgrims stranded on a boat near Namkhana, Kakdwip. The incident occurred when the pilgrims were returning from Ganga Sagar after taking a holy bath on Makar Sankranti. NDRF with two speed boats and Indian Coast Guard with one hover craft have started the rescue operation since morning. According to the Coast Guard, the pilgrims boarded the ship from Kachuberia yesterday after taking a bath in the Ganga. The pilot of the ship got lost in the dense fog and the ship got stuck in Mudiganga. Earlier, two ships on their way to Ganga got stuck in this ghat. The ship full of passengers remained stuck for about 5 hours.

According to the information, the boat filled with pilgrims got stuck in a precarious situation due to poor visibility. This information was immediately given to the Indian Coast Guard forces. Considering the urgency of the situation, the Indian Coast Guard took immediate action. He quickly reached the spot with his state-of-the-art hovercraft and saved 182 pilgrims with his technical skills.
