Ganesh Visarjan 2023: Dead body of a youth recovered from Yamuna in Agra, search for two youths continues

Agra. Six people drowned in Yamuna river near Khaspura village of New Agra area during Ganesh idol immersion in Agra on Thursday evening. The villagers present on the spot saved three people. But three people went missing in the deep waters of Yamuna. The administration is continuously searching for them. As of Friday afternoon, the body of a young man has been found. The search for two is ongoing.

Rescue operation going on for 18 hours

A campaign has been going on for 18 hours by the Agra administration after the drowning of youth in Yamuna river. In such a situation, the body of a young man has been found far away from the incident site. Divers are continuously engaged in rescue operations to search for the bodies of other youths. Besides, officers are also holding a stand on the banks of Yamuna since yesterday.

Accident happened during Ganpati immersion

Let us tell you that Ganpati immersion was done at many ghats of Yamuna in Agra on Thursday. During this period, police were deployed at Yamuna ghats at various places in the district. But about 6 youths drowned during Ganpati immersion on the banks of Yamuna in Khaspura village of New Agra police station area. There was panic among the villagers present on the spot. After which somehow three youths were saved and the search for the other three youths was started. District administration police and rescue team also reached the spot. Late in the night, the District Magistrate of Agra also reached the spot and ordered to speed up the rescue work.

SDRF is also engaged along with the team of divers and fire brigade to search for three youths who drowned in Yamuna river on Thursday. Rambaran 20 years, Shivam 22 years and Babu Dubey 21 years were found in Yamuna river and all three are said to be residents of Nagla Budhan Sayeed. Out of which Shivam’s body has been recovered at a long distance from the incident site.
