G-20 Traffic Advisory: Which routes will remain closed in Delhi NCR, know the guidelines before leaving the house

Keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the public, a new arrangement has been made regarding traffic in Delhi-NCR. New guidelines and advisory have been issued by the traffic police. It has been told which routes will remain closed and which will remain open during the G20 conference. On September 9 to 10, when you step out of your homes, be sure to follow the guidelines.

Ring Road – Ashram Chowk – Sarai Kale Khan – Delhi-Meerut Expressway – Noida Link Road – Pusta Road – Yudhishthir Setu – ISBT Kashmiri Gate – Ring Road – Majnu Ka Tila.

From AIIMS Chowk – Ring Road – Dhaula Kuan – Ring Road – Brar Square – Narayana Flyover – Rajouri Garden Junction – Ring Road – Punjabi Bagh Junction – Ring Road – Azad Pur Chowk.

east-west corridor

From Sun Dial/DND Flyover – Ring Road – Ashram Chowk – Moolchand Underpass – AIIMS Chowk – Ring Road – Dhaula Kuan – Ring Road – Brar Square – Narayana Flyover.

From Yudhishthir Setu – Ring Road – Chandgi Ram Akhara – Mall Road – Azadpur Chowk – Ring Road – Lala Jagat Narayan Marg.

According to the website of Delhi Police, the movement of vehicles in New Delhi and surrounding areas will be controlled in this way.

1. Entire area of ​​New Delhi district from 05:00 hrs of 08.09.2023 till 23:59 hrs of 10.09.2023 will be treated as Containment Zone-I. However, genuine residents, authorized vehicles and emergency vehicles will be allowed to travel on the road network of New Delhi district.

2. Entire area inside Ring Road (Mahatma Gandhi Marg) from 05:00 hrs of 08.09.2023 till 23:59 hrs of 10.09.2023 will be treated as regulated area. Only vehicles carrying genuine residents, authorized vehicles, emergency vehicles and passengers heading towards the airport, Old Delhi and New Delhi railway stations will be allowed to ply on the road network towards New Delhi district beyond the Ring Road.

3. Interstate buses will also be allowed to enter Delhi. The terminating point of all such buses will be on the Ring Road.

4. In addition, the following roads and junctions will be considered as containment zone-II from 12 noon. 10.09.2023 up to 14:00 hrs. On 10.09.2023:- W-Point, A-Point, DDU Marg, Vikas Marg (up to Noida Link Road-Pusta Road), Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Delhi Gate, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg (from Rajghat to Guru Nanak Chowk), Chaman. Lal Marg (from Guru Nanak Chowk to Turkman Gate), Asaf Ali Road (from Turkman Gate to BSZ Marg), Maharaja Ranjit Singh Marg (from Barakhamba-Tolstoy Crossing to Guru Nanak Chowk on Chaman Lal Marg), Mahatma Gandhi Marg (from Delhi ) -Meerut Expressway T-Point to Kashmere Gate), IP Flyover, Shanti Van Chowk, Hanuman Setu, ISBT Kashmere Gate and Salimgarh Bypass.

5. The movement of passengers will be facilitated to the airport, New Delhi and Old Delhi railway stations. However, such travelers are advised to choose the suggested routes and keep enough time.

6. Non destination vehicles will compulsorily be diverted towards Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressway and other alternate routes. These vehicles are not allowed to enter Delhi.

7. Buses already existing in Delhi will ply on the road network beyond Ring Road and Ring Road towards the borders of Delhi. These buses will be allowed to go out of Delhi.

8. Normal traffic, including all types of commercial vehicles and buses already present in Delhi, will be allowed on the road network towards the Ring Road and the borders of Delhi beyond the Ring Road.

9. TSRs and taxis will be allowed to ply on the road network outside New Delhi district. However, taxis carrying genuine residents and tourists with valid bookings in hotels located inside New Delhi district will be allowed to ply on the road network inside New Delhi district.

10. Heavy goods vehicles (HGV), medium goods vehicles (MGV) and light goods vehicles (LGV) will not be allowed to enter Delhi. However, goods vehicles carrying essential commodities like milk, vegetables, fruits, medical supplies etc. will be allowed to enter Delhi with valid ‘No Entry Permission’.

11. The movement of traffic entering New Delhi district will be controlled.

12. Bona fide residents and authorized vehicles will be allowed to move within the New Delhi district. Vehicles connected with housekeeping, catering, waste management etc. for hotels, hospitals and other important establishments in New Delhi district will be allowed after verification. Bonafide residents, authorized vehicles and essential service providers mentioned above will have to carry documents to prove their identity.

13. General traffic except goods vehicles and buses will be allowed to enter Delhi from Rajokri border. Further, this traffic will compulsorily be diverted from NH-48 to Rao Tula Ram Marg – Olof Palme Marg. No vehicle movement will be allowed on NH-48 towards Dhaula Kuan.

14. All types of goods vehicles, commercial vehicles, interstate buses and local city buses such as Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses and Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System (DIMTS) buses will not be allowed to ply on Mathura Road (beyond Ashram Chowk). ), Bhairon Road, Old Fort Road and inside Pragati Maidan Tunnel from 0000 hrs of 07 & 08.09.2023 to 23:59 hrs of 10.09.2023.

15. Traffic will be affected at the following places in Controlled Zone-II from 05:00 to 13:00 on 10/09/2023.

Shanti Van Chowk from Geeta Colony

What is allowed and what is not allowed in Delhi during the G-20 summit

If anyone is going to collect samples like in postal service or medical service, then they will not be stopped in the whole of Delhi. There will be no ban on home delivery of medicines, but food delivery will remain closed during this period. It will be necessary for state employees to have ID card. There will be no restriction on the movement of vehicles related to essential services.
