Full fees will now be refunded on cancellation of admission in Bihar, UGC issued letter

Patna. Admission process is going on in all the universities. During the admission, UGC has again issued a letter to all the universities regarding the fee refund. UGC has said that many universities and colleges do not refund the fees of the students after cancellation of admission. But now this will not happen. Students can complain against the institutes which do not refund the fees by visiting the UGC portal. After the complaint, UGC will take action against such institutions and refund the fees of the students.

Full amount will be refunded if admission is canceled by 30th September

In the instructions issued by the UGC, it has been said that if the students cancel or withdraw the admission by September 30, then they should be refunded the full amount of fees. At the same time, for those who withdraw enrollment till October 31, no more than Rs 1,000 should be deducted as processing fee.

There is also a provision for refund of fees and non-keeping of original certificates.

UGC has said that this circulation has been issued after complaints received from parents and students. 100% fee will be refunded if admission is canceled 15 days or more before the formally notified deadline of admission. Provision for refund of fees and non-retention of original certificates has been made by UGC to facilitate the students to transfer their admission from one institute to another. Apart from this, the UGC has directed the HEIs to redress any grievances of the students who have withdrawn their admission in the academic year 2023-24.

29,10,62,350 fees recovered

UGC Chairman Prof. M. Jagadish Kumar said that UGC is with the students at every step because if the students take admission elsewhere, they should not face any problem regarding refund of fees or documents. Due to the strictness of UGC, the fees of thousands of students have been refunded in 2022-23. UGC has recovered a fee of Rs 29,10,62,350 crore, which is being given to the students.
