The NDA government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar won the trust vote in the Bihar Assembly on Monday. 129 members voted in favor of the confidence motion presented by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while not a single vote could be cast due to the absence of opposition members during voting. 78 from BJP, 45 from JDU, 4 from HAM and one independent MLA Sumit Singh along with three RJD MLAs Chetan Anand, Neelam Devi and Prahlad Yadav also voted in favor of the confidence motion of Nitish government.

Earlier, voting was also conducted on the no-confidence motion brought to remove the Speaker of the Assembly. In this, with 125 votes in favor of the no-confidence motion and 112 votes against it, the resolution to remove Assembly Speaker Awadh Bihari Chaudhary was passed with a majority. Earlier, amidst the demands of the opposition, JDU’s Vice President Maheshwar Hazari, who was sitting on the chair, made the members of both the parties stand up one by one and count them.
