Free Ration in UP: Free ration distribution starts in UP from today, know the last date of the scheme and who can take benefits.

Lucknow News: Free ration distribution is starting from Tuesday in Uttar Pradesh. He was waiting for the month of December for the Antyodaya and eligible household card holders of the state to get its benefit. According to state government officials, free ration is being distributed from Tuesday to December 20 under the National Food Security Act. During this period, Antyodaya and eligible household cardholders can avail the benefits of the scheme. No free ration will be distributed to any cardholder after December 20. Food Commissioner, Saurabh Babu said that till December 20, all Antyodaya card holders will be given three kilograms of sugar at the rate of Rs 18 per kilogram per ration card for the three months of October, November and December. During this period, Antyodaya card holders will also get a total of 35 kg food grains including 14 kg and 21 kg rice. According to officials, two kilograms of wheat and three kilograms of rice per unit will be provided free of cost to eligible household ration card holders. Under the decision to provide free food grains to Antyodaya and eligible household beneficiaries for one year from January 1, free food grains are being distributed till December.

Portability transaction facility

Food Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh, Saurabh Babu said that the facility of portability transaction will be available in the free distribution of food grains. Fair Rate Shopkeepers will be able to do portability transactions to the extent of their available stock. He said that the last date for free distribution of wheat and rice under this scheme will be 20th November. On this day, free distribution can be done through mobile OTP verification for consumers who cannot get essential commodities through Aadhaar authentication.

It is necessary to transport paddy purchased at purchasing centers in vehicles equipped with GPS.

Now paddy purchased at purchasing centers in UP will be transported through GPS equipped vehicles. Minister of State for Food and Logistics Satish Chandra Sharma has asked to free the PDS warehouses of the Marketing Branch from tenancy soon. He said that in many places, despite the death of the head and any of the members mentioned in the ration card or change of place after marriage, complaints are being received about lifting the ration of all the members already mentioned in the ration card. After verification of such cases, new candidates will be selected in their place.

4.90 lakh farmers did online registration for paddy sale

So far this year, 4.90 lakh farmers have registered online for paddy sale and 99,243 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 15755 farmers. A payment of Rs 171.00 crore has been made to the farmers directly into their bank accounts. During the same period last year, 60,515 metric tonnes were purchased from 9069 farmers. This year more paddy has been purchased than last year.

5653 places for model shops for ration distribution

Food Commissioner said that under the public distribution system, 75 model fair price shops are being constructed in every district of the state. A total of 5653 locations have been identified for the proposed model shops in the state, out of which the construction work of 159 model fair price shops has been completed. The construction work of 2687 model fair price shops is going on, out of which the construction work of about 798 model fair price shops will be completed by the end of this month.
