World Cup 2023: Former India captain Kapil Dev had claimed on Sunday that he was not invited for the World Cup final between the host team and Australia. Kapil, who led India to its first ODI World Cup title in 1983, said that he wanted to go to the match with his fellow players.
Kapil Dev told ‘ABP News’, “I was not invited there.” They didn’t call me so I didn’t go. It is just that simple. I wanted the entire 1983 team to be there with me but I think it’s such a big tournament and people are so busy with responsibilities that sometimes they forget.
Among the former captains of India present at the Narendra Modi Stadium was Sourav Ganguly, who was invited as the former President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
