Ranchi: The court of Additional Justice Dinesh Kumar convicted former JMM MLA Paulus Surin of Torpa and Naxalite Jetha Kachhap in the murder case of Ram Gobind and Bhushan Kumar Singh on charges of being informers for the police. Also, the court fixed April 10 for hearing on the point of punishment. At the same time, the court acquitted Krishna Mahato and three female accused, who were facing trial in the case, due to lack of evidence.
Paulus Surin was physically present in the court during the verdict, while Naxalite Jetha Kachhapa was present through video conferencing from Godda jail. During the hearing of the case, the statements of 12 witnesses were recorded by the prosecution. A witness was presented by the defense side. Bhushan Kumar Singh and Ram Govind were murdered in Torpa, Khunti in 2013 on charges of being informers for the police.

An FIR was registered in Karra police station under case number 27/2013. In this case, along with Paulus Surin, Naxalite Jetha Kachhap, Krishna Mahato, three female accused were also facing trial. PFLI supremo Dinesh Gop is also facing trial in the same case.
