Barhet (Sahibganj), Nagraj Shah: Former Jharkhand Health Minister Hemlal Murmu will return home after nine years at Bhognadih, the birthplace of Veer Shaheed Sido-Kanhu, located in Barhait block of Sahibganj district on Tuesday in the presence of state Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Started political innings from 1995
Actually, his political innings started in the year 1995. When he contested assembly elections from Barhait with the symbol of JMM and won by 20 thousand votes. He is one of the veteran leaders of Santal Pargana. Hemlal does not need any introduction. Hemlal Murmu was MLA from Barhait assembly seat on JMM symbol in 1995, 2000 and 2009 and was elected MP from Rajmahal Lok Sabha seat in 2004 from JMM. In this election, he defeated his rival late Thomas Hansda, father of present Rajmahal MP Vijay Hansda, by a huge margin. At the same time, Hemlal Murmu has also been the Minister of Mines in the Center apart from the Health Minister, Education Minister in the Jharkhand Government.

Apart from Health Minister and Education Minister in Jharkhand Government, Hemlal Murmu has worked as Mines Minister at the Center. During the 2005 elections, Simon Malto, who was contesting from BJP, defeated Hemlal Murmu. Hemlal Murmu was defeated by about 600 votes.

There is a possibility that the problems of a big leader of Boria assembly of Sahibganj district are going to increase due to joining the hands of Hemlal Murmu.
