Ranchi, Rana Pratap: Former Jharkhand minister Enos Ekka, who is serving sentence in money laundering and disproportionate assets case, has got relief from the Supreme Court. While hearing the SLP related to this, the Supreme Court provided the facility of bail. A division bench of Justice S. Balasubramaniam and Justice Pankaj Mittal accepted the request for bail during the hearing of the case.

Respondent directed to file reply

After listening to the plea of ​​the applicant, the bench said that the applicant has been sentenced to seven years in the case of earning disproportionate assets. In the money laundering case also, the sentence of almost six years has been completed. In this situation, detention is not appropriate, as the appeal is pending. The Bench directed the respondent to file a reply in the matter.

Anos Ekka is convicted

Prior to this Supreme Court’s preferred advocate Siddharth Dave, advocate Gaurav Aggarwal, advocate Rajeev Awasthi and advocate Vishal Kumar appeared on behalf of the applicant. This information was given by Jharkhand High Court advocate Pallav Kumar on behalf of Enos Ekka. He told that in the disproportionate assets case, the lower court had sentenced seven years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50 lakh, while in the case of money laundering seven years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2 crore was imposed.
