Former Chief Minister of Bihar Karpoori Thakur will receive ‘Bharat Ratna’ today, CM Nitish will also be present in the ceremony.

Former Chief Minister of Bihar, Jannayak Karpoori Thakur will be honored with Bharat Ratna on Saturday. The function is being organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday. In which 5 personalities will be given Bharat Ratna. Among these, the name of former Bihar CM Karpoori Thakur is also there. His son and JDU MP Ramnath Thakur will receive this honour. Karpoori Thakur is being given this honor posthumously. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and both the Deputy Chief Ministers will witness this ceremony.

CM Nitish will also attend the function

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar left for New Delhi on Friday. He will attend the ceremony of posthumously awarding Bharat Ratna to former CM Karpoori Thakur in New Delhi on Saturday. After this, he will return to Patna from New Delhi on Saturday evening. Karpoori Thakur’s family members will also be present in this function.

Awarded Bharat Ratna posthumously

In fact, on January 23, 2024, a day before the 100th birth anniversary of Jannayak Karpoori Thakur, it was announced by the President’s Office to posthumously award him Bharat Ratna. On this announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and all the leaders of the party and opposition remembered the contribution of Karpoori Thakur and praised him.

These 5 personalities will get Bharat Ratna

President Draupadi Murmu will honor five eminent personalities of the country with Bharat Ratna in a ceremony organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday. Former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani, former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh, Narasimha Rao and Dr. MS Swaminathan will also be honored with Bharat Ratna. Former Bihar CM Karpoori Thakur’s son will receive the Bharat Ratna award. Saturday is a very historic day for Bihar.
