About five percent of the total workforce may be laid off after the performance assessment for the year 2023 is over. The assessment work began in January and will continue for approximately a few more weeks. PTI language has given this information quoting sources related to the case.

Flipkart has around 22,000 employees and as a result of the performance assessment, around 1,100 people may leave the company. An e-mail was sent to Flipkart asking about this, but till now no reply has been received from its side.

According to a report in Business Standard, Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy recently held a town hall with employees, where he said that the company’s financial condition is improving.

The report says that as the company’s economic unit improves, the company is considering extending its IPO to 2025. Moneycontrol quoted a source aware of the company’s plans as saying, Flipkart’s grocery business has shown very positive momentum and is growing well.

There is news that there is going to be a large number of layoffs in Flipkart, an e-commerce company owned by Walmart, one of the world’s largest retail companies. This will affect the employment of thousands of people. This is a big sign that the phase of layoffs has started once again.
