Flights are getting canceled from Patna airport, 10 pairs of planes flew late, know the new arrangement for passengers..

Patna Flight News: The weather of Bihar has taken a turn. The cold has started increasing now. At the same time, operations of trains and planes are disrupted due to fog. For the last few days, flight operations from all the airports of Bihar have been affected. Not a single plane took off from Darbhanga airport on Tuesday. Whereas many flights from Patna are also being cancelled. Due to fog, bad weather and operational reasons, two pairs of flights coming to and returning from Patna were canceled on Thursday. IndiGo flight 6E2769, arriving from Delhi to Patna at 10:10 am, was the first flight to be cancelled. Indigo Airlines flight 6E255 to Bengaluru was also canceled at 11:30 pm. Since this flight did not come from Bengaluru to Patna, the Indigo flight from Patna to Bengaluru also had to be cancelled.

10 pairs of flights flew late

Passengers were informed through SMS about both the canceled flights and their tickets were also rescheduled to another flight. Therefore, there was no uproar regarding this at the airport. With this, 10 pairs of flights flew late. In this, two pairs of flights were delayed by more than an hour. Delhi bound SpiceJet flight SG8721 arrived late by one hour 21 minutes at 11:41 pm instead of the scheduled time of 10:20 am and returned to Delhi with almost the same delay. Air India flight AI673 arrived and departed late by one hour and 20 minutes instead of 1.20 pm. Apart from this, eight more pairs of aircraft arrived late. However, his delay was less than an hour.

IndiGo’s grounded flight flies away

After the recovery of the grounded flight of Indigo Airlines, it flew to Delhi on Thursday morning. There was a malfunction in the hydraulic system of this aircraft due to which its flywheel was neither able to go in nor come out properly. Due to this, it had to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff on Wednesday. The team of engineers from Delhi completely repaired it late on Wednesday night. After that, after taking permission from DGCA, it returned to Delhi on Thursday morning without taking any passenger.

Waiting hall built at Patna airport

To protect air passengers from cold, a waiting hall has been built at Patna Airport. In this, passengers will be able to sit and wait for their flight to arrive. Currently 100 chairs have been installed in it. But there is a lot of empty space along with it. Airport Director Anchal Prakash said that if needed, we can add 150 to 200 more chairs and increase its capacity to 250 to 300. Better lighting arrangements have been made in the waiting hall. A toilet has also been built in front of it and arrangements for drinking water have also been made.

Entry into the terminal is available two hours in advance

Passengers get entry inside the Patna Airport terminal only two hours before the arrival or departure of the flight. In such a situation, air passengers coming from different districts of Bihar have to wait for a long time outside Patna Airport because due to fear of being late, they often arrive much before their time. Due to less chairs in the Patna Airport canopy area, many times they do not even get a place to sit. In January, when many planes get delayed due to dense fog, the number of waiting passengers increases even more. In such a situation, they do not face any problem in getting a place to sit, hence this temporary waiting hall has been built at Patna Airport. This waiting hall will remain as long as the winter season lasts.
