Fire broke out in wood mill in Deoghar, controlled with great effort, loss of around Rs 14 lakh

Deoghar/Jasidih: A sudden fire broke out in a wood mill named Rai Wood Works located next to Arogya Bhawan in Jasidih in Deoghar district of Jharkhand. In the incident, the entire foundation, shed etc. including the wood mill machine were burnt. Mill owner Munna Kumar Rai has claimed a loss of about Rs 14 lakh. After receiving information about the incident, fire department personnel along with four fire engines arrived to extinguish the fire. Extinguishing the fire started at around 2 o’clock on Wednesday night and the operation was completed in about eight hours. By 10 am the wood mill fire could be completely extinguished by the fire department personnel.

The fire department had to spend about 15 liters of water to extinguish the fire in the wood mill. District fire in-charge Gopal Yadav said that 10 percent of the wood and other items kept in the mill including the wood mill machine were burnt. 90 percent of the wood of the mill and the surrounding houses were saved safely. According to the information, the fire is said to have occurred due to short circuit at around 1 am on Wednesday night in the said wood mill. This information was given to the fire office. At first the flames were rising very high. One by one the fire department personnel arrived with four fire engines. The fire brigade would run out of water and they would immediately refill it. Soon it was 10 o’clock in the morning and a total of 15 fire engines were used to extinguish the fire. With great effort, the fire department personnel succeeded in extinguishing the fire.

Loss of around Rs 14 lakh
In this regard, mill owner Munna Kumar Rai has claimed a loss of Rs 14 lakh. District Fire Officer Gopal Yadav along with Dinkar Dev, Dhananjay Kumar, Jeetram Oraon, Naveen Kumar Singh, Virendra Munda, Rajeev Ranjan were engaged in extinguishing the fire of the wood mill. First, an attempt was made to extinguish the fire in the wood mill with the help of the mill owners and nearby people, but when they could not control it, the fire department was informed.

District Fire Officer Gopal Yadav said that in case of fire incident, people can give information by dialing 112 and calling Fire Department Deoghar office number 9304953442. As soon as the information is received, the fire department personnel will immediately reach the spot along with the fire brigade and start extinguishing the fire.
