Vikas Kumar Gupta, Kolkata: The fire at BNR Railway Hospital located in Garden Reach, Kolkata spread panic among the patients. The fire broke out on Tuesday morning outside the operation room of the eye department located on the third floor of the hospital. After receiving the news, five fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and started controlling the fire. After a lot of hard work the fire brigade finally controlled the fire.
Fire near operation theater
According to the information, at around 7 in the morning, RPF soldiers on duty saw flames coming out from near the operation room. The fire broke out near the operation theater (OT) of the eye department on the third floor of the hospital. After this, this information was immediately given to the fire department. Only then the patients were immediately taken out from the operation theatre. RPF soldiers also participated in the rescue operation. After this, five fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. It is being told that after a lot of efforts the fire was brought under control. However, there is news that many equipments of the operation theater have been damaged. The patients are very scared due to this incident that happened in the morning.

everyone is safe
It is being told that at present everyone is safe. The hospital administration has assured the family that there is nothing to worry about. The operation theater of the ophthalmology department has been closed. Short circuit is being said to be the primary cause of the fire. The hospital management says that surgery will be possible only after the installation of new equipment. Firefighters are finding out the exact cause of the fire.
