keep it in the fridge

To identify adulteration in mustard oil, you can do its freezing test. For this, take out some mustard oil in a bowl. After this keep it in the refrigerator for a few hours. After this, take it out and see if the oil appears frozen or if white spots start appearing in the mustard oil, then understand that the oil is adulterated.

barometer test

The purity of genuine mustard oil can be determined through barometer. The barometer reading is 58 to 60.5, but if the reading of mustard oil is more than the prescribed standard then the oil is fake. Therefore, whenever you buy oil, identify whether the oil is genuine or fake by its barometer reading.

Changing the color of the oil means that it has been adulterated. Nowadays argymone oil is mixed with mustard oil. A poisonous polycyclic salt is found in this type of oil, which is called sanguinarin.
