Thiruvananthapuram : Onam festival is being organized with great pomp in Kerala from 20th August, which will continue till 31st August. On this occasion, companies selling cars in the country are offering discount offers to customers on the purchase of cars during their festive season. It is reported that car manufacturers Renault and Nissan are offering discount offers on the occasion of Onam in Kerala.
Renault is giving a discount of 75,000 on the purchase of cars
According to media reports, Renault India on Thursday announced a discount of up to Rs 75,000 on its entire range of vehicles across Kerala on the occasion of Onam. Apart from this, the company is also offering additional loyalty benefits to the existing customers. The offers will be available across all authorized dealerships in the state for a limited period till 31st August.
200 cars delivered in a day
The company has said that with the advent of the festive season in Kerala, it is experiencing a surge in demand for its product range. Due to the festive fervor, 200 Renault cars were delivered in a single day in the state. 87,000 discount mark
On the other hand, there is also news that Nissan Motor India has also announced special offers in Kerala during Onam. Offer valid for August only. Car buyers can avail total benefits of up to Rs. 87,000 under the Onam offer. Currently, Nissan is selling only the Magnite in the Indian market, so the offer is applicable only on the Magnite.
Benefits offered at multiple levels
Efforts are being made by the company to give benefits to the customers in many ways. This includes three years prepaid maintenance plan (PMP), exchange bonus of Rs 50,000, accessories worth Rs 5,000 on the purchase of the car and special corporate benefits of up to Rs 5,000. In addition, there is an additional benefit of 6.99 per cent finance scheme on opting for special finance offer through Nissan Renault Financial Services India (NRFSI).

Why is Onam festival celebrated?
Let us tell that Onam is a major festival of Kerala. Onam is celebrated every year in the month of Chingam (Singam or Singham) to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Vamana and welcome King Bali, which lasts for about 10 days. This festival starts from the only Vamana temple in Thrikkakara (near Kochi) in Kerala. In Onam, beautiful rangolis (pookalam) are made from flower petals in the courtyard of every house. The girls make a circle around those rangolis and dance gaily (Thiruvathira Kali). The initial form of this pookalam is small at first (on Atham day), but every day one more circle of flowers is added to it. In this way, till the 10th day of thiruvonam, this pookalam assumes a huge size. The idols of Trikkakarappan (Vishnu in Vamana avatar), King Bali and his bodyguards are installed in the middle of this Pookalam, which are made of raw clay. Games like boat race are also organized in Onam.
