Tundi, Chandrashekhar Singh Although people generally know that pearls are found in the sea, but pearls are also cultivated. It may sound a bit strange to hear this, but it is true. Its cultivation has been started near Kadamhara village of Tundi. It has been started in collaboration with AUDACIA E-Commerce Private Limited under the direction of Agricultural Technology Management Authority (ATMA) of Jamtara. Now the pearls in the oyster will be ready in a month. Sindri farmer Jaidev Pal, who is farming here, said that it was started on June 17, 2022. It was started with the efforts of Dhanbad MLA Mathura Prasad Mahato. He also inaugurated it. He told that this is the training period. Some patience is needed. After this, regular farming will be done. According to him, it takes 14 months for pearls to form in oyster. It should be noted that the process of rearing oysters and extracting pearls from them is called pearl farming.

The first batch is almost ready

The pearls in the first batch are almost ready. The company has purchased all the oysters. But here she is shying away from cutting. Actually, the farmers want that the cutting should be done in front of them so that they can be more efficient, but the company only wants them to do farming and buy the oysters before cutting.

How is a pearl prepared?

First a big water tank is made, which is completely filled with water. Then the oysters are kept immersed in the same water in the lari. Water is supplied through pipes 24 hours a day. Dirty matter is removed from that water every week. Company people keep coming and watching from time to time. Sipping is done in oysters after operating between 10 to 12 months. Due to this the liquid of the pearl gets collected at one place. The chip is inserted as per the design to be made. In this way the pearl takes 14 months to be ready. Some companies buy the oysters even before chipping them. The price of one oyster is three hundred rupees.
