There is a plan to build 50,000 ponds with the aim of motivating farmers to conserve water. Out of this, 40 thousand ponds have already been completed. This will help farmers in farming along with fish farming. Lakhs of farmers will be benefited from Amrit Sarovar Yojana. By joining this scheme, farmers can double their income. It is being told that 75 Amrit Sarovar ponds are being built in every district of the country. Due to this, the worry of farmers about irrigation of crops is going to go away. At the same time, in Bihar also the work of making 2852 Amrit Sarovar in 38 districts is going on.

According to media reports, the lake spread over one acre has the capacity to hold 10,000 cubic meters of water. Rain water will be stored in these ponds.
