Farmers Protest: Third round of talks will be held tomorrow between the government and farmer leaders, questions raised on the attitude of the Centre.

Farmer agitation continues for the second consecutive day on various borders of Delhi. Farmers clashed with security personnel on Wednesday also. Meanwhile, there is news that the third round of talks will be held between the farmers organization and the central government on Thursday. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday evening at 5 pm. Farmer leaders said that they have received a letter from the government for talks, for which they are ready. It is known that hundreds of farmers are gathered at various borders of Delhi with their demands. On Wednesday, the second day of the protest, farmers remained standing on the two borders of Punjab-Haryana for the Delhi march. The protesting farmers of Punjab made a fresh attempt to remove the barricade on the Haryana border.

Farmers organization raised questions on the attitude of the central government

General Secretary of Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti, Sarwan Singh Pandher said, the meeting with the Center will be held tomorrow at 5 pm. Talking to the media, he said, if the Center comes up with a solution, we are ready for the solution. We don’t want confrontation. We will sit peacefully for talks. During this, farmer leaders also raised questions on the attitude of the central government and termed the police action as wrong. Farmers asked, why have paramilitary forces been deployed?

Union ministers Arjun Munda, Piyush Goyal and Nityanand Rai have been deputed to talk to the protesting farmers. Earlier, the Union Ministers had held two rounds of meetings in Chandigarh with the leaders of farmer organizations including Samyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political), Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, but the talks remained inconclusive and the farmers started the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march on Tuesday.

Amid the farmers’ agitation, Union Minister Arjun Munda had said on Tuesday that the law guaranteeing MSP cannot be brought in haste without consulting all the stakeholders. Along with this, he appealed to the farmer organizations to have a constructive discussion with the government on this issue. Munda said, in the two rounds of discussions we agreed to many of their demands. But consensus could not be reached on some issues. Negotiations are still going on.

Riots continue for the second consecutive day on Delhi march

Thousands of farmers remained standing on the two borders of Punjab-Haryana on Wednesday morning to once again start their ‘Delhi Chalo’ march. At the same time, Haryana Police fired tear gas shells to disperse the protesters at Shambhu border near Ambala. Police also fired tear gas shells at Data Singhwala-Khanauri border in Jind district of Haryana. The police have installed a large number of barricades to stop the tractors of the farmers. The protesting farmers of Punjab made a fresh attempt to remove the barricade on the Haryana border. Farmers continue to come from many places of Punjab to participate in the ‘Dilli Chalo’ march. A large number of tractor-trolleys can be seen parked on the national highway towards Punjab.
