Thousands of farmers of Uttar Pradesh have once again come out in protest regarding their demands. The protesting farmers tried to march towards the Parliament, but the police stopped them at Chilla border in Noida. Here, there is a traffic jam in Noida due to the farmers’ protest.

Changes in traffic in view of farmers’ protest

Due to the proposed march of farmers, traffic routes have been changed at some places, while efforts are being made to stop the proposed march by talking to the farmers. Senior officers and other personnel are present at various places to control the traffic.

Security increased in view of farmers’ protest

In view of the gathering of thousands of farmers and villagers, Noida Police has increased security on its borders with Delhi on Thursday. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait joined the group of protesters in Greater Noida in the afternoon, where his Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) members protested outside the local authority office. The protesters in Noida are being led by the Bharatiya Kisan Parishad, whose workers have camped outside the local authority office since December 2023. Noida Police is strictly checking at various borders connected to Delhi, due to which vehicular movement has slowed down on various routes including Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and DND.

Why are farmers protesting?

Farmers in Noida and Greater Noida have been protesting since December 2023, demanding higher compensation and development plots in exchange for their lands acquired by local development authorities.
