The latest incident is of Friday where Shiv Sena Uddhav faction got another blow when Maharashtra Legislative Council Vice President and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Neelam Gorhe On Friday, she joined the Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Gohra, an aide to former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, joined the ruling party in Mumbai in the presence of Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. As soon as Neelam Gorhe joined the Shinde faction, he was given the post of ‘leader’ in the party, which is the highest post after the party president.

Political history of Neelam Gorhe

Neelam Gorhe is a well-known face of Maharashtra politics. Neelam has been active in politics since 1987 as a social worker. His inclination was towards Shiv Sena from the beginning. Neelam Gore joined Shiv Sena in 1998, since then she is known as a loyal Shiv Sainik and the female face of Shiv Sena. Neelam Gores was first elected as the Legislative Council in the year 2002, then was elected to the Legislative Council for the fourth consecutive time in the years 2008, 2014, and 2020. Exactly one year ago i.e. on 7 July 2022, Neelam Gore was made the Deputy Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council.

Neelam Gorhe was the deputy chairman of the Legislative Council and also an assistant to Uddhav Thackeray. Neelam’s education has also been done from Mumbai, she has graduated from Mumbai University. Neelam’s joining the Shinde faction is considered a major setback for the Uddhav camp. Many Shiv Sainiks are now unable to believe that Neelam Gorhe has left the Uddhav faction and joined the Shinde faction.

After joining the Shinde faction of Neelam Gore, Aditya Thackeray has also targeted Gore along with the Shinde faction by tweeting. The ongoing battle, he said, is between selfish versus honest thinking. Uddhav Thackeray gave the same person a chance to go to the Legislative Council four times. Despite being there for 21 years, he was given the benefit of constitutional posts twice. Aditya has also criticized Neelam Gore for not being able to stop the fascination of the chair. Aditya Thackeray said, he remembers only one song regarding defection. ‘These threads of fascination…’ The fascination of the chair, breaks relationships, forgets morality!”
