After escaping from Budha Pahar, the Maoists are again looking for a safe haven in the district. The Dauna forest is located on the border of Gumla, Lohardaga and Latehar districts, which the Maoists are constantly trying to make their new hideout.

Naxalites had thrashed the villagers

On Wednesday night, the Maoists thrashed villagers fiercely in Dauna and Purnadih villages. Rural youth Devkumar Prajapati died after being beaten by Naxalites. At the same time, four other villagers have been injured. The deceased taker used to work as a guard. On Sunday night, an armed squad of Naxalites reached the house of merchant Ansari in Lurgumi village of Durup Panchayat, but the merchant Ansari was not found in the house. After this, the Naxalites beat up his 20-year-old son Raunak Ansari.

Naxalites have beaten up the villagers earlier also

Earlier, on June 30, 2023, at around 10 pm, the Naxalite squad had thrashed Mission School principal cum Father Cyril Brijia and school worker Roshan Brijia. The only reason for the beating was that when the Naxalites were passing by the school, the father raised a voice by lighting a torch.

Panic in both the villages

There is an atmosphere of panic in both the villages after Maoists beat up the villagers in Dauna and Purnadih. The villagers are afraid to tell anything. During the thrashing of Devkumar, his wife and child begged the Maoists to release them, but no hearing took place. After this incident, even the stove did not burn in many houses of the village. There was a lot of anger among the villagers because the police reached the village after a long time after the incident.

Budha Pahar area, a safe haven of Naxalites, was made naxal free by joint operation of Jharkhand Police, CRPF, Cobra Battalion and Jharkhand Jaguar jawans. During this, Naxalites were driven out by Operation Octopus, Operation Bulbul and Operation Thunder. After freeing the Naxalites from the occupation, the security forces established permanent camps. Home Minister Amit Shah along with CM Hemant Soren had congratulated the security forces for this big success.

Budha Pahar freed from the clutches of Naxalites after three decades

Due to dense forest in Budha Pahar area, this area was a safe haven for Naxalites. Naxalites had made Budha Pahar their hideout since the 1990s. But, after three decades, Budha Pahar was freed from the clutches of Naxalites. After this, the state government brought many development schemes for the villagers here. The Budha Pahar Development Project was launched on the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The Budha Pahar area is spread over an area of ​​55 square kilometers.

Talking about the geographical location of Budha Pahar, this area is spread over 55 square kilometers. Due to dense forest, this area was a safe zone for Naxalites. Since the year 2018, the Naxalites were forced to drive out the Naxalites by running a vigorous campaign in this area by the security forces. Police-Naxal encounters took place several times. Security forces demolished many bunkers.

Budha Pahar Development Project will improve the life of the villagers

After freeing Budha Pahad from the Naxalites, the Hemant government of Jharkhand started the Budha Pahad Development Project for the development of the villagers. Villagers of 11 villages of Tehri Panchayat of Garhwa and 11 villages of Aksi Panchayat of Latehar i.e. total 22 villages will be linked with development. The state government has started 175 schemes at a cost of 100 crores.
