People are coming and going by entering the water. Due to water reaching the bank of Janardan Ghat, there is very little dry place left for the last rites. If the water level rises, there will be trouble in the last rites as well. Water has reached the top of the stairs at NIT Ghat, Gulbi Ghat, east of Patna Collectorate.

Vigilance regarding safe operation of boats

The water level of Ganga is continuously increasing. On Thursday, the water level of Ganga in Digha was 49.66 meters, while it was 48.54 meters in Gandhi Ghat. According to experts, due to decrease in the water level of river Ganga in Allahabad and Varanasi, there is an estimate of decrease in water level in Patna as well. This decrease is possible in a day or two. Due to the rise of water, an alert has been issued in the low-lying areas. Due to the increase in the water level of the Ganges, the officials in the areas adjacent to the Ganges have been asked to remain in alert mode. 27 villages of Maner, Danapur, Patna Sadar, Fatuha, Bakhtiyarpur and Mokama blocks will be affected due to increase in the water level of river Ganga. That’s why the officers in all the blocks have been asked to keep all the preparations. Special attention is also being paid to the safe operation of boats in the Ganga. Boat is the only means of movement of the people of Diyara region in the city.

Trouble in worship due to rising water level

Ganga river water has come near the temple located on Bhadra Ghat. Water has accumulated all around the platform. The stairs have also been submerged in water. In such a situation, those who worship are facing problems. People say that due to the increasing water level of Ganga, there is a problem in worshiping and performing Ganga Aarti. Ganga Aarti takes place here every Tuesday. Aarti of Ganga is being performed in the frozen water at Chautal.

Dry rivers also came to life

The water level of Ganga in Hathidah has reached above the danger mark of 41.760 metres. The water level was recorded at 41.780 meters till 5 pm on Thursday. Due to this, the construction work of the bridge near Hathidah has come to a standstill. However, the water level is stable after 5 pm. On the other hand, the dry rivers of Tal have also come to life. It has proved to be a boon for the paddy growers.

Agriculture has gained momentum

According to the water level data of the state’s rivers released by the Central Water Commission, the Ganga is flowing below the danger mark in Bhagalpur as well. On the other hand, the water level of Gandak river at Dumariyaghat in Gopalganj was 43 cm above the danger mark. The Bagmati river in Sitamarhi was below the danger mark, while the water level of Bagmati in Runnisaidpur of Sitamarhi was 96 cm above the danger mark. Kosi was flowing above the danger mark in Khagaria.

Due to the break in monsoon, the farmers were facing the fear of drought. After this, now paddy cultivation has gained momentum. But, the problems of the people have increased due to floods and rains. In Katihar, Araria, Purnia, small and big rivers like Ganga-Kosi-Mahananda, Saura etc. are in spate, people are in panic and orders have been issued to vacate the low-lying areas. In Patna, water has spread till the river front on the edge of the city. After this, complete preparations are being made by the corporation to ensure that water does not spread.

City’s sewerage and drain water is being pumped out. All the sluice areas of the corporation area will be closed by the gate. Along with the Ganges, the water level of the Punpun river is also rising. Through the sewerage and drainage of the corporation area, water from the drains reaching Ganga and Punpun from the big drains is being pumped through pumps. An additional pump is being installed from Digha to Badshahi Nadar. The reason for closing the sluice gate is that the water of the Ganga does not enter the city through the drain.

The water level of Punpun river is increasing continuously. For this reason, the sluice gate will be closed here too. All the pumps installed here are also being run continuously. It is to be known that the sluice gate is closed due to increase in the water level of the rivers. By not doing this, the water of the city will not come out. CM alerted the officers

Along with the sewerage of the city, the water of the drains is being pumped out. The sluice gate will also be closed. Permanent shelters have also been constructed in 10 districts and temporary shelters in 18 districts to prevent floods in Bihar. This will help people during floods. Please tell that the government is on alert mode regarding the flood. State Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had also taken stock of the rising water level of the rising Ganga and has put the officials on alert. CM inspected the rising water level of river Ganga. The CM instructed the officials to be fully alert and keep all preparations complete keeping in view the rising water level in the areas along the banks of river Ganga.

Here, monitoring of embankments has been increased in Gopalganj. Teams of officers and engineers are deployed on the embankments and camps are being conducted on their behalf. In view of the rising water level, the operation of private boats has been banned. At the same time, DM Naval Kishore Chaudhary has appealed to the people living in the low-lying areas to move to a safer place. There is a possibility of water spreading in the villages. Regarding this, the COs of the concerned zones are appealing to the people in the villages through Mike. Monitoring has increased on the embankments. Adequate security arrangements have been made. Workers are deployed at every one kilometer. DM himself is monitoring. Patrolling is being done continuously for 24 hours on the dams of Gandak river by the concerned officials.
