Exclusive: Like Naxal, drug trade will end in Jharkhand

These days, drug consumption has become a trend among the youth in Jharkhand. The young generation is badly falling prey to this. In such a situation, how will there be a complete stop to the drug trade in Jharkhand and the future of the youth of Jharkhand will improve? In this regard, the editor of BollywoodWallah Digital has talked to Ranchi Zone IG Akhilesh Jha. In this conversation, BollywoodWallah has tried to understand how this rapidly flourishing business in Jharkhand will be stopped. At the same time, what work is Jhakhand Police doing in this direction?

On the question of how this business is growing rapidly in Jharkhand, IG Akhilesh Jha says that till a few years ago, opium was cultivated only in Chatra, Palamu and Latehar districts of Jharkhand. But now it is gradually seen increasing in Hazaribagh and Khunti district adjacent to Ranchi. Now these districts also seem to be affected by opium cultivation. The police is continuously taking action in this matter. Agriculture is being destroyed. People doing farming and those involved in it are being arrested. But people engaged in this business are also doing their work by finding different tricks.

IG of Ranchi Zone says that earlier this farming was done on the land of the tenant. But now sometimes they choose forest land and sometimes businessmen plant opium crop on government land. Akhilesh Jha says that there is a reason behind the rapidly increasing trend of drug abuse among the youth. Since few days, its consumption has increased rapidly in big cities of Jharkhand like Ranchi-Dhanbad-Jamshedpur. In this regard, arrests have also been made from Jamshedpur and Seraikela in the last few days. The police is continuously working in this direction.

He further explains that this type of business is encouraged by anti-social elements. He invests in it. Expect maximum returns also. In such a situation, there is a need to make the villagers aware. The government is also working in this direction. He says that apart from opium cultivation, if the villagers get better profits from mango crop then they will never cultivate it. Regarding this, seeds are being made available to them at cheap rates. In this direction, if all the departments like Forest, Agriculture, Finance come together and explain to the people that its cultivation can make the land barren, then surely we will be able to end this drug trade like Naxal.

Encode Forum has already been formed in Jharkhand to work in this direction. In which officials from state level to district level are involved. Akhilesh Jha says that on this platform we all come together and work in this direction. Right now there is a demand from our government that a separate team should be formed to destroy the crops, which should have all kinds of modern equipment. This will make the work of destruction even easier. At the same time, on the question of the ill effects of drug addiction on the society, Akhilesh Jha says that undoubtedly the families of the youth who have fallen prey to it, including women and children, are most affected by it. It can be said that an entire family gets ruined due to drug addiction.
