October month Passenger Vehicle (PV) It was a record month for the segment as the highest ever domestic sales of 3,91,472 units were recorded. During the month, Maruti Suzuki India had six models in the top 10 best-selling cars, while Tata Motors had two models. Surprisingly, Mahindra Scorpio overtook Hyundai Creta in wholesale sales.

The SUV segment’s share in PV volumes in October was 50.7%, while the hatchback segment’s share was 29%. The 10 best-selling cars in October include five SUVs, three hatchbacks, one sedan and one MPV.
Maruti Suzuki WagonR tops in sales
Maruti Suzuki WagonR was again the best selling car in October with 22,080 units. After this, Maruti Suzuki Swift stood at second place with 20,598 units. Tata Nexon remained the leader among SUVs with 16,887 units.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno’s dominance continues
Maruti Suzuki Baleno continued its great streak and recorded sales of 16,594 units during the month. Maruti Suzuki Brezza was not far behind with 16,050 units. Tata Punch has been performing strongly for the past several months and this trend continued in October too, with sales of 15,317 units.
Scorpio sold more than Creta
Among the top 10 best-selling cars in October, Maruti Suzuki Dezire was the only sedan with 14,699 units, while Maruti Suzuki Ertiga was the only MPV with 14,209 units. Now, surprising. Mahindra Scorpio (including N and Classic) recorded sales of 13,578 units during the month, ahead of Hyundai Creta, which recorded sales of 13,077 units.
