Episcopal consecration and investiture ceremony of newly appointed Bishop Dr. Father Linus Pingal Ekka today

Preparations for the episcopal consecration and investiture ceremony of Dr. Father Linus Pingal Ekka, the newly appointed Bishop of Gumla Diocese, have been completed. The episcopal ordination and investiture ceremony will take place today (January 12) on the St. Patrick Parish grounds. Around 50 thousand people are likely to attend the function. Bishop Dr Linus Pingel Ekka has been appointed as the third Bishop of Gumla Diocese. The Pope’s ambassador from Rome, Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli, will be the main attendee of the ceremony. The main consecrator of the episcopal consecration will be Archbishop Felix Toppo of Ranchi Archdiocese and the co-consecrators will be Bishop Bhincent Barwa of Simdega Diocese and Bishop Anand Jojo of Hazaribagh Diocese. Along with this, about 30 thousand Christian believers including 20 bishops, 1000 priests, 2000 religious sisters from different religious provinces are likely to participate.

The guests will be given a grand welcome among the guests.

Here, as part of the preparations for the ceremony, final preparations were made for the welcome song and dance to welcome the guests arriving for the ceremony to be held in Gumla, and for the choir song during the bishop’s consecration. Regarding preparations, priests of Bishop’s House, Saint Ignatius, Don Bosco, Ursuline, Saint Anna, religious sisters of various organizations, members of Central Catholic Assembly, Catholic Women’s Assembly, Catholic Youth Association were present in Saint Patrick’s Parish.
