EPFO: Usually, money is deducted from the salary of employed people in the Employees Provident Fund (EPFO). Earlier, when you changed jobs, your PF account number also changed. Now EPFO has issued a universal number like PAN number. Which remains the same even after changing jobs.
Many people already doing private jobs have more than one UAN number active at the same time. As per the rules, you should have only one UAN. Having more than one UNN number may cause you to face many problems.
You can merge your two UAN numbers by applying offline or online even sitting at home. For offline service, inform the institute where you are working. Or you can mail it directly to EPFO with complete details.
Merging UNA online is quite easy. For this go to the first page. There, apply for transfer of old PF account to new PF account through forest member.
You will receive the new UAN and password on your registered mobile number. Login again through this. There, the option of services is given. In this, click on Request for Transfer of Account. After this fill the requested information.
EPFO will verify your details. Verification: Your old account number will be deactivated. You will get this information through SMS on the registered mobile number.
After the old account is deactivated, you can apply online to transfer the amount deposited in your first account to the new account. This may take at least a week to 15 days.
