Entire family commits suicide in Barrackpore, West Bengal, suicide note recovered

Barrackpore: A sensation spread after the mutilated bodies of four members of the same family were recovered from the flat. The incident took place in MS area of ​​Ward 19 under Khardah Municipality. As soon as information about the incident was received on Sunday afternoon, the police of Khardah police station reached the spot and started investigating the matter. The primary guess of the police is that the man has committed suicide after killing his wife and two children. The dead include husband, wife and their two children. Police recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. According to the information received, around 12 o’clock on Sunday the people of the neighborhood felt the foul smell coming from the flat. After this he informed the incident to Khardah police station. After receiving the news, the police reached the spot and broke the lock of the flat and entered inside. They saw that the dead bodies of Vrindavan Karmakar, his wife Mamta Karmakar, eight-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter were lying there. Vrindavan’s body was hanging from the noose, while the bodies of other family members were lying soaked in blood on the floor.

Police estimate that the incident occurred three days ago. According to local sources, Vrindavan lived with his wife, eight-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter. He was a cloth merchant by profession. It is told that Vrindavan came to know about the wife’s extramarital affair. He reportedly asked her several times to get out of the relationship. It is alleged that wife Mamta did not listen to him. Probably after this he allegedly killed his wife and then his son and daughter with a sharp weapon. Then he also committed suicide. Local people said that Vrindavan was last seen on Thursday while going to buy bread. It is reported that a suicide note has also been recovered from the house. It is written about the wife’s illicit relationship. However, the police have started trying to find out the real reason for the incident. Ward 19 councilor Moushumi Pal said that the original owner of that flat, Arup Gangopadhyay, called and informed that Vrindavan workers and their family live in his flat. There was no news from the last few days and they could not be contacted even on phone and their bodies were found on Sunday.
