Zero Electricity Bill: Assembly elections are going to be held in Rajasthan this year. Before this, political rhetoric has intensified. The latest statement has come from Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot. While talking to the media in Jhunjhunu, he said that the public has made up its mind. In every house you will find a beneficiary taking advantage of the government scheme… We have made 100 units of electricity free not just for the poor but for everyone. The bills of the poor were reduced to zero. They are upset that Rajasthan is being discussed in every state. Let us tell you that on the first of June, CM Ashok Gehlot had made a big announcement while giving a gift to the people of the state. While announcing, he had said that everything will be free for domestic consumers who consume up to 100 units of electricity in Rajasthan. This means they will not need to pay electricity bills. Not only this, the consumer will not have to pay all types of taxes including fuel surcharge, fixed charges on the bill between 100 to 200 units. After this new announcement, the bill is now becoming zero till the consumption of 100 units due to which the people of the state are happy. Consumers who consume 200 units of electricity have to pay a bill of only Rs 503. However, to take advantage of this, consumers are required to register in the inflation relief camp.

How many domestic consumers are the benefits reaching?
The Congress government of the state had already announced to provide free electricity up to 100 units. This year, CM Gehlot had announced this in his budget. To avail its benefits, 78 lakh people got themselves registered under ‘Mukhyamantri Domestic Free Electricity Scheme’ in inflation relief camps by the end of April. If all the potential consumers get registered, then the electricity bill of more than 1.10 crore domestic consumers of the state will be zero.
Know here how much will be the electricity bill
Know what will happen till 50 units: According to the government scheme, the bill for 50 units comes to Rs 487.50. 487.50 subsidy is given on this. This means the electricity bill of these consumers will become zero.
Know what will happen till 100 units: According to the government scheme, the bill for 100 units is Rs 832.50. A subsidy of Rs 832.50 is given on this. This means that now the electricity bill of these consumers will be zero.
Know what will happen till 200 units: According to the government scheme, the bill for 200 units was Rs 1610. 1107 subsidy is being given on this. This means that now the electricity bill of these consumers will come to Rs 503.
Let us discuss here that only a few months are left for the assembly elections in Rajasthan. Before this, many schemes are being discussed in the state. Among these schemes, the most discussed issue is the electricity bill scheme. People are getting positive response to this scheme. However, how much benefit the present Congress government of Rajasthan gets from this will be clear only after the election results. This is being said because the people of Rajasthan hand over power to different parties every year.
