Eight have died in a road accident in Uttarakhand.

News of the accident is coming from Nainital district of Uttarakhand. According to the information, a vehicle fell into a ravine near Betalghat here on Tuesday. Due to this, eight people aboard died while two others were injured. Regarding the accident, police said that apart from the driver, all the victims of the accident were residents of Mahendranagar, Nepal. They were going to their home. There were 10 people in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

On receiving the information, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team reached the spot and descended 150 meters into the ravine and started relief and rescue operations. According to police, SDRF along with local people and police retrieved eight bodies while two other people injured in the accident were immediately sent to the hospital. Driver Rajendra Kumar was a resident of Betalghat in Nainital district and he is also among the dead.
