ED’s big action against JDU leader Radhacharan Seth, assets worth Rs 26.19 crore seized

Patna. JDU leader Radha Charan Seth’s troubles do not seem to be reducing. On Tuesday, ED took major action against JDU MLC Radhacharan Seth, who was arrested for acquiring illegal assets worth more than Rs 77 crore. ED has provisionally attached two immovable properties worth Rs 26.19 crore acquired by Radha Charan Shah in the money laundering case against M/s Broadson Commodities Pvt Ltd. JDU MLC Radha Charan Sah was arrested by ED on September 13 last year in the disproportionate assets case.

The arrest was made from the farm house

The JDU Legislative Council member was arrested from his farm house in Arrah, where the ED interrogated him for several hours. Two days later, ED arrested his son Kanhaiya Prasad. ED had called for questioning. Kanhaiya was arrested after interrogation. There are many allegations against Radhacharan Sah ranging from illegal trade of sand and tax evasion to acquiring wealth through wrong means. Regarding this, central agencies have raided the premises of JDU MLC several times. During the raid, many documents were also seized by the investigation team. At present Radhacharan Seth and his son are lodged in Beur jail.

and fear of confiscation of properties

After investigating the allegations against Radha Charan, now ED has taken another big action. The ED has provisionally attached properties worth Rs 26.19 crore illegally acquired by Radha Charan Sah in a money laundering case against M/s Broadson Commodities Pvt Ltd, a company owned by JDU MLC Radha Charan Seth and RJD leader Subhash Yadav. However, ED claims that Radhacharan Seth has stolen tax of about Rs 161 crore. There is a possibility of more property being confiscated in this case. Many schools and institutions of Radha Charan are running in Arrah, Bihar.
