ED will interrogate PLFI supremo Dinesh Gop’s associate Nivesh Kumar

Ranchi: PLFI supremo Dinesh Gop’s aide Nivesh Kumar was produced in the court on Monday on charges of money laundering. After this, ED gave a memo of arrest to Nivesh through the court. After this he was sent to Birsa Munda Central Jail in judicial custody. Now the ED team will take the investment on remand and interrogate it. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had conducted raids against PLFI in four states including Jharkhand on December 15. During this time, NIA had arrested two accused Nivesh Kumar and Sonu Pandit alias Raman. NIA had raided a total of 23 places linked to PLFI in Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and New Delhi.

These included Gumla, Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega, Palamu and West Singhbhum districts of Jharkhand. The accused and suspects against whom NIA took action were all cadres and supporters of PLFI in Jharkhand. They were involved in conspiracies to carry out violent incidents and extremist activities. During the raid, two pistols, cartridges (7.86 mm), three lakh rupees and other items were recovered. The NIA investigation so far has revealed that PLFI cadres were involved in raising funds through levy collection from various coal traders, transporters, railway contractors and traders in Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
