Kolkata: In a major action, the ED team raided the premises of state minister Chandranath Sinha in Birbhum district of West Bengal on Friday morning. This raid is going on at his residence in Bolpur. During this time, Central Force personnel surrounded the minister’s house.

It is said that after the announcement of the date of Lok Sabha elections, the ED team reached the house of Minister Chandranath Sinha for the first time. The news of this spread like wildfire in the area, creating panic among Trinamool Congress workers. It is noteworthy that ED has arrested District Trinamool Congress Party President Anubrata Mandal, a resident of Bolpur, in the cow smuggling case and sent him to Tihar Jail. He has been in jail for almost two years. Apart from this, Anubrata Mandal’s daughter Sukanya Mandal, associate Sehgal Hussain and CA Manish Kothri are also in jail. Ministers Chandranath Sinha and Anubrata Mandal dominate the politics of Bengal. This is why there was a stir in Bolpur area after the raid.
