ED Raid: Know what PM Modi said on ED raid

ED Raid: The opposition is seen continuously attacking the Modi government at the Center regarding the investigation by central agencies. Meanwhile, PM Modi himself has responded to these allegations. He has rejected this allegation of the opposition, and said that the agencies work independently. The Prime Minister rejected the allegation that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was only targeting opposition leaders. Let us tell you that former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal have been arrested by ED, after which the opposition has become more aggressive.

Agencies work independently: PM Modi

PM Narendra Modi gave an interview to Thanthi TV of Tamil Nadu. In this he said that we neither hinder the work of the investigating agencies nor direct them. These agencies do their work independently. Not only this, it is evaluated on the scale of the judiciary. PM Modi further said that out of all the cases currently being investigated by the ED, ‘less than 3%’ are related to politics. The ED has around 7000 cases, of which less than 3% involve the politician’s name.

2200 crores were confiscated during our rule: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during the interview that the amount of money seized during his (opposition’s) 10-year rule was only Rs 35 lakh. On the other hand, Rs 2200 crores were confiscated during our rule. On the opposition’s allegation that the agencies are taking action only against those who do not belong to the ruling BJP…On this, PM Modi said that the procedure followed by the investigating agency ED to initiate the case is the same. No matter who is in power.

Hemant Soren and Arvind Kejriwal were arrested

Let us discuss here that on January 31, the then Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren was arrested by the ED in connection with the alleged land mining scam. On March 21, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the investigating agency in the excise policy case. Kejriwal is currently in ED custody.
