ED seems to be active once again in the ration ‘corruption’ case in West Bengal. ED has started search operations at at least six places in Kolkata since Monday morning. Central officials have also visited the office of the chartered accountant of former Bangaon mayor Shankar Aadhya. ED had claimed in the court that Shankar owned more than 90 forex companies. But not all those companies are in Shankar’s name. Has been purchased in the name of your relatives and acquaintances of relatives. The central agency claims that Shankar has made transactions worth at least Rs 20 thousand crore abroad through this institution. Reportedly, the money was first converted into foreign currency (mainly dollars) and then sent to Dubai. Sometimes the money reached Dubai directly and sometimes via Bangladesh.
